Augusta Locally Grown: THE ON-LINE MARKET IS OPEN AT AUGUSTA LOCALLY GROWN
WE’RE BUSY ELVES THIS MONTH!
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 9
LOCAL GIFTS HOLIDAY BAZAAR
Twinkling lights will create a festive feel at our 3rd annual “Local Gifts Holiday Bazaar” held at the AJCC on-line market pick-up. This mini event is a great place for Columbia County folks to get those locally crafted stocking stuffers!
TUESDAYS, DECEMBER 9 & 16:
BRING YOUR POT TO THE MARKET DAY! In fact, bring a bunch of them! Our holiday project this season is collecting hundreds – maybe thousands? – of used planting pots for donation to the horticulture occupational therapy program for vets at the VA. All sizes, colors, plastic or clay. Bring them to the AJCC or the West End Market, Tue, Dec 9 or 16, 3p-6p.
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11:
“100 IN HARRISBURG” PROJECT –
Thanks to Macy, Steven, Candace, Chef Dave, Kathleen, Khalea and Charlie, we put in 8 more raised beds yesterday and are now up to 41! Our next big work day will be Thursday, December 11, starting at 9am. Email kim@augustalocallygrown.org if you can help!
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 30
NO ON-LINE MARKET
There will be no ALG On-Line Market on Tuesday, December 30. This is the only week each year that we close. Stock up for New Years on December 23rd! We will resume the ALG On-Line Market on January 6.
SAVE THE DATE: FEB 20-21
GEORGIA ORGANICS CONFERENCE
We’d love to see the CSRA make a big splash at the annual Georgia Organics Conference. This February, it’ll be held in Athens. Registration for this event opens on Nov 24. What a great way to network on behalf of our own local foods movement. Visit georgiaorganics.org for more information.
OPPORTUNITIES AT AUGUSTA LOCALLY GROWN
We are currently encouraging folks to consider the following opportunities with our organization:
• MARKET DELIVERY SERVICE – If you are interested in starting your own delivery service on Tuesdays for on-line market customers, please email kim@augustalocallygrown.org.
• GROVETOWN PICK-UP LOCATION – If you are interested in managing a pilot on-line market pick-up location in Grovetown for ALG, please email kim@augustalocallygrown.org.

Take me to the Market.
Joyful Noise Acres Farm: The on lie market is open for ordering.
Good morning,
We are glad to have Georgia Farm to Table back on the market this week. The Savoy cabbage alone has me ordering a box plus extra cabbage. That is one of my favorite cabbages for stir frying and it makes a very tasty slaw.
The Lollie and Pop shop makes the most amazing vanilla using organic vanilla beans and bourbon. The beans soak for 6 months before being bottled. This is some of the best vanilla I have had and adds a wonderful depth of flavor to anything you are preparing. A splash in a cup of hot chocolate is a lovely treat.
The hens have been increasing their laying so we will have plenty of eggs this week. Thankfully Living Free Farm and Rocky Acres Farm have stepped up to help us meet egg demand so you should find plenty of eggs for your needs this week.
Blessings to all and see you Wednesday.

Carolina Foothills, SC: Market Will Be Open Today at 4
Hello all,
I hope Turkey Day found you all well. For those wondering, it was confirmed Parvo and I am thrilled to report that Panda recovered 100%.
Again, heaven knows I don’t wish this on anyone but should you find yourself in the same boat and don’t agree with pumping an already seriously I’ll dog with chemicals, my friend stumbled accross a solution completely herbal that worked like a charm. True, she lost 3 dogs but we believe there were other issues involved.
1 past before she rerealized what was happening and the other 2 she wormed first. The others who ONLY got the solution All recovered.
Anyway, back to business…..
Come in, look around and buy, buy, buy. We have another holiday right around the corner so stock up now. It looks like the cold weather has finally found us and it will be getting chilly next week….. I don’t know about you but hot chocolate sounds wonderful.
Have a safe and happy weekend.
Susan.
